Okay, friends, I have to tell you about Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, because I haven’t stopped thinking about her since the big reveal.
The Disney Believe sets sail on December 18, 2027, from Fort Lauderdale. She’ll offer 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and the Caribbean, with stops at one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. That’s the perfect length for a first cruise, or for adding a few days at sea to a Walt Disney World trip.
So, What’s New?
First, there’s the beautiful new Grand Hall inspired by Moana, featuring a statue of Moana with Pua and Heihei and a stunning chandelier inspired by the movement of the sea.
Let’s start with the show I can’t wait to see. “Disney Encanto” is a brand-new musical you’ll only find on the Disney Believe. Picture “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” live on stage, with gorgeous costumes and dancing. “Tangled: The Musical” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” round out the lineup.
Dinner gets an upgrade too. At Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, Oaken invites you to his family’s summer house for dinner with Anna and Kristoff, while his cousins play their own versions of your favorite Frozen songs. It’s a whole new Frozen story, and my guess is the kids will be talking about it for months.
Zootopia fans, this one’s for you. Gazelle is a family hangout during the day, with games, trivia, and characters. At night, it turns into an adults-only spot with silent discos. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde also star in their own show, where guests help them crack a case.
For the grown-ups, there are three new lounges. Sea Notes is a piano bar inspired by Ariel’s grotto. Wishing Well feels like stepping into Snow White’s castle courtyard. Skygazers is a cozy pub with an observatory theme. The Haunted Mansion Parlor is coming back too, and I’ll see you there!
The kids aren’t left out either. AquaMouse is back with new adventures, and the entrance to the Oceaneer Club is themed to Monsters, Inc., complete with “2319” caution tape. I love that little detail.
And then there’s the Believe Tower Suite. It’s a two-story suite built right into the ship’s front funnel, with each room themed to a different land at Magic Kingdom. Since I live in the shadow of the Magic Kingdom, I may be a little biased, but I think it’s the coolest suite at sea.
Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Wait
Booking opens to everyone on Monday, October 19. Eligible Castaway Club members and other select groups have early booking opportunities beginning October 12, depending on their membership status. So some of the best rooms may already be booked before general booking even opens.
New Disney ships always book up quickly, especially the very first sailings, holiday dates, concierge rooms, and suites. My best advice is to plan ahead now, so you’re ready the minute your booking window opens.
